Avery

Name: Avery

Alias’ and Nicknames: Avery Coppersmith, the Plague of Planets

Race: Human

Sex: Female

Age: 657

Appearance: Avery appears to be a fairly attractive woman around age 30, with curly mouse-brown hair to her waist, blue eyes, and a slightly pale complexion. She is muscular, yet lean, and- much to her annoyance and frustration- has a very large bust. Her waist is slim, but not anorexic, with long legs. She’s 5’ll in height. Her features are pleasant, with long lashes and full lips. Her nose is a source of embarrassment, being a little larger than she would like.

Personality: A contemplative soul, Avery spends a lot of time brooding and thinking. She has a volatile and nasty temper, and can be truly sadistic and ruthlessly cruel when she’s angry, using her tongue as a sharp and deadly weapon. She does enjoy a good time, and while not overwhelmingly social, enjoys spending time with the few people she decides to befriend. When in the correct moods, she has a very funny streak, and uses a sometimes silly humor to get laughs. Art, music and movies of all types, reading, cartoons and videogames bring out a truly giddy side her, and she can spend hours chattering about the latest Final Fantasy or reciting Shakespeare. Recently, Nosedive has been introducing her to a few of the better comic books, and she seems to be enjoying those.

Avery also has a very romantic side, and- if she can be persuaded to be in a relationship- will be innovative and kindly. As a quirky side note, Avery prefers ‘girly guys’- feminine, submissive types. And she goes absolutely gaga for nicely groomed long hair.

Unfortunately, Avery spends a lot of time being depressed, and can become reclusive and withdrawn if pressured to speak about her past and what she is thinking. If she wants someone to know, she’ll tell them- otherwise, beware. She has a deep sympathetic streak for ‘Bad Guys’, especially Chameleon.

Attire: It is in clothing that the innately artistic side in Avery comes to light. She enjoys wearing anything flashy, gaudy, artsy, and eye-catching. She has a nice sense of fashion that pulls it all together, but her closet looks rather like a costume shop. She also has a thing for flair jeans and dog collars, and collects versions of both. In battle, Avery wears a black, high cut tank top, blue jeans, combat boots, a longish black jacket that goes to mid thigh, and fingerless gloves.

Weapons: Avery is trained in variety of weapons, her favorites being katana and polearms. However, she currently relies almost entirely on her fists, magick, and when all else fails, a nice simple gun.

Likes: Her friends, Chameleon, sugary things, videogames, movies, Gorillaz, cartoons, and reading. And girly boys.

Dislikes: Siege and Dragaunus, The Huntress, the Hunters, eggplant, children, and driving.

History: Born on a small planet locked in Jihad between two opposing religions, Avery’s family was one of the few that opposed the Holy War. They and a few others scraped up enough money to send one of their children off planet to be trained as a High Magi, so their progeny could return and stop the battling. Chosen randomly in a lottery, the quiet, gangly girl was apprenticed to a mage, and was trained in all the paths of true magick, excelling particularly in Mind and Life. She became and excellent healer, and soon was well on her way to being appointed a true Magus. Apparently.

But Avery and her mentor had a secret that they’d hidden from their superiors. In one of her training missions, the girl was possessed by a Malevolent- a physical or spiritual manifestation of all that is wrong and evil. The thing was banished, but not before taking on some of the darker aspects of her personality. Sadistic, cruel and egotistical beyond belief, this newly created demon shaped itself into a twisted version of Avery’s body, and left the physical plane with a terrible threat- that it, or she, would hunt Avery down and reduce her to a vagabond, never with a home or someone to care about.

And, in short, that’s exactly what she did. The copy murdered Avery’s family, friends, and as many of the other Magi as she could, absorbing and stealing their powers as she did so. The Huntress, as she now called herself, adopted a small group of Evil-worshipers and took them under her wing, fashioning herself as a god of sorts. She dubbed them the Hunters, and they were and still are her lapdogs. When the Elder Magi found out what this thing was, and where it had come from, they killed Avery’s mentor, and banished her from their order forever.

Consumed by guilt and hatred, Avery vowed that she would not let herself die until she’d been forgiven, and began to flee from planet to planet, learning more about magick as she went. She adopted a number of names and identities (only recently has she began calling herself by her original name again), and once in a while would try to settle down to live a life of solitude. But that was never to be. The Huntress would always find her, and destroy anything and everything she cared about in that lifetime, forcing her to move yet again. This sadistic hide and seek seems to be going on still today.

Misc.: Due to the immense amount of energy used for casting spells, Avery eats a lot and sleeps quite late. She despises being woken up when she’s asleep.

Avery has hinted at having left behind many ‘True Loves’ on other worlds, but *will* become exceptionally despondent, depressed, and cranky for as long as two weeks afterward if she is questioned on theses matters.
